Anne Hathaway was in New York last night at the 18th Annual Empire State Pride Agenda Fall Dinner showing her support for the LGBT community and the promise of marriage equality in New York state. She looked great, non? Really, really great. And she was really, really passionate and adorable on the podium as her entire family was honoured with the 2009 Douglas W. Jones Leadership Award recognising their efforts as they have “lobbied…in Albany for marriage equality, supported and volunteered for numerous LGBT organizations including PFLAG, the Hetrick-Martin Institute and the Trevor Project; and worked to defeat Prop 8 in California.”

Noted the Pride Agenda: “Strong families make for strong communities, and the Hathaway family is helping to make New York a better place for all of us.” Word.

Anne has been working on a new movie called Love and Other Drugs with her Brokeback co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, a dark comedy about a pharmaceutical salesman who falls in love with his client, a woman suffering from Parkinson’s. She’ll next hit theatres in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland as the White Queen and she has at least 4 projects in development including a rumoured role opposite Hugh Jackman in a PT Barnum biopic.

How can the Jessicas Alba and Biel compete with that?
