I didn’t come up with it. That was the position of this article in The Guardian last month pronouncing Anne-Marie Duff and James McAvoy “Britain's new golden acting couple”. She’s already distinguished herself on stage, he’s currently Macbeth in the West End. And they were brilliant on television together in the original -- and ONLY, if you ask me -- Shameless. And they’re both managing very healthy film careers.
But unlike Liz and Dick -- who are referenced in the Guardian piece -- this is not a couple that thrives on drama. Drama is the work but not the life. I can’t remember seeing a picture of their son Brendan. They’re very rarely papped. There are no photo shoots inside their townhouse. And they are very, very, VERY nice.

And here are Anne-Marie and James, McDuff if you have to, at the Olivier Awards last night in London. He was nominated for Best Actor which ended up going to Luke Treadway. James looks kinda nervous to me here in these photos, and she’s the one who’s more relaxed and supportive. God I love them, please don’t ever break up.
