Watchers of award shows know that Aziz Ansari comes prepared to lose. And while he did lose Best Actor In A Comedy Series to Jeffrey Tambor, he did not lose the top prize, Best Comedy Series. Master of None won, which is, I think, the first time they’ve won on TV. The show also got recognized by the American Film Institute, but they don’t televise their awards. So this means we get an official Aziz Ansari Acceptance Speech, which was solid, but his co-creator, Alan Yang, stole the show with his shout out to all the “straight white guys” who have “crushed it so long that anything else seems kind of different”.
