I hope you saw this, because it was blink-and-you-miss-it, and because Aziz Ansari is one of the people I wish we heard more from last night. Actually, I know it’s sort of the non-awards awards show and all, but wouldn’t a ‘bit’ have broken it up and made it a little less serious? Even a (gasp) video bit?
Yes, says Aziz, and that’s why when they announce him as a nominee, he’s in a shot with a book called “Losing to Jeffrey Tambor With Dignity”.
Even if you didn't win the #GoldenGlobes Award, you won the Internet tonight Aziz Ansari. pic.twitter.com/9F0RkClIxn

That’s an advanced move, right? He’s saying “1. I’m gonna lose. 2. I deserve to lose, because Jeffrey Tambor is amazing, but 3. My reading this book reminds you that I WROTE a lauded book recently, and 4. Doesn’t that give you the impression that I have a lot going on, generally? Remember I was on tour recently telling people about love? Do you think I’m worried about not getting this Golden Globe?”
Humble, Funny, Busy. If I’m going to write a pamphlet called ‘killing it at an awards show’, the first Boldface paragraph is ‘Look like you’re happy to be there’, but the second one is going to be “Humble, Funny, Busy”. Pick at least two.
