Check out Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner on the red carpet at the 2nd annual Save the Children Illumination Gala last night in New York. It’s her charity. So he was there to back her. He received the Global Child Advocate Award. And he told the media and the audience that:
“My wife is an amazing and strong woman. I'm so happy to be here supporting the work that she does."
Usually, with this guy, it’s the other way around. But she really does hold it all together for them. Here’s what she said about him in return:
"He's being an amazing husband and supporting me by coming out to my charity."
It’s easy to let that comment slip away. That he’s an “amazing husband”. But the way she qualifies it… “being an amazing husband” by being there…
Is that what qualifies? Isn’t that a given? I mean if that’s me, I feel like showing up is the expectation.
