Benicio Del Toro has been idle for some time now. And… um… it shows.

This is Benicio the other night leaving Beso after presumably a rich meal. To me it’s the cowboy boots that make it amazing. The final touch. Once upon a time he was the sex, remember?

Benicio’s next film, the highly anticipated The Wolf Man was supposed to be released early April but has been pushed back until November. No official reason was offered but a November release suggests the studio thinks it’ll do well during the holiday box office. Could be promising?

As for his next project… it’s shaping up to be a heavyweight. Daniel Day-Lewis, Del Toro, and Gael Garcia Bernal directed by Martin Scorsese – a movie called Silence, something about Jesuit priests in 17th century Japan trying to spread Christianity. Variety reports that shooting won’t begin til later this year. Benicio still has some time to indulge.

And Sean Penn’s assertion that Del Toro was overlooked for an Oscar nomination for Che?

Blame Steven Soderbergh. FOUR F-CKING HOURS??? Edit!
