Busy day in Beyoncé yesterday. First, it was confirmed, officially, that she will not be performing at Coachella in April. Which… doesn’t really need an explanation. But she provided one anyway

Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.

What I appreciate about this statement is the word “rigorous”. Like, Beyoncé’s having a double. But even still, she was hoping to deliver a performance at Coachella that would have involved “rigorous” preparation. And it’s the doctors who don’t want her to!

So no Beyoncé at Coachella this year. But now you know what she’ll be doing in April of next year. Basically she has an entire year to think about the kind of show she’s going to come back on after delivering twins. Which also means she has an entire year to make sure Coachella makes the structural adjustments to provide for the stage she’ll require to make this show a spectacle. Because it will be one.

In other Beyoncé news, in response to the Trump administration’s announcement this week withdrawing “Obama-era protections for transgender students in public schools that let them use bathrooms and facilities corresponding with their gender identity”, Beyoncé posted this message on her Facebook account yesterday:

Trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer, explained the administration’s decision by saying that Trump is a “firm believer in state’s rights” which the New York Times editorial board points out is “an inglorious justification (that) has been deployed repeatedly by those on the wrong side of history in earlier civil rights battles. It was used to fight abolitionists, the women’s suffrage movement, the repeal of Jim Crow laws, and, most recently, same-sex marriage”.

So while Beyoncé does not directly refer to Trump by name, her support for the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is obviously in resistance to his policies. As GLSEN’s Executive Director, Dr Eliza Byard notes in her response to Beyoncé’s message:

“We are so thrilled that Beyoncé is standing up for transgender youth by joining GLSEN’s 100 Days of Kindness Campaign at this very difficult time. There is a great deal of confusion and fear out there right now, and Beyoncé has the unique power to cut through the noise to deliver a crucial message of love and support to all transgender youth. Thank you, Beyoncé. (And I cannot wait to tell my daughters about your support.)”

So she has a Snapchat account. And it’s private. And now apparently the Beyhive is trying to find it. Um, I feel like maybe it’s the Blue Ivy Carter who has a Snapchat account?

Beyoncé is having twins. Amal and George Clooney are having twins. JLO has twins. Julia Roberts has twins. Brange has twins. But no one with twins has them with more feeling than … Celine! Please enjoy all the feelings Celine – SO MANY FEELINGS – has about Beyoncé having twins.

Céline Dion sends well wishes to Beyoncé ❤️
