As mentioned earlier this week, it was Beyoncé and Jay Z’s 9th wedding anniversary on Tuesday. That day she released a new video for her song Die With You. And then she posted photos on her website from their trip to the Grand Canyon to celebrate their 8th anniversary last year. Blue’s there too. So B’s in a sentimental mood. It’s almost gushy, non? She’s gushing about their marriage. Their happiness. And remember, this would have happened about two weeks before the release of Lemonade. So the suggestion here is that they were secure and solid well before it came out.
You know what you’re not supposed to consider though when looking at the pictures? Who’s taking the pictures? All this family closeness, the squicky tenderness between them – it’s being documented and as gifted as I’m sure the Blue Ivy Carter is, I’m pretty sure she’s not taking the photos. Maybe it was the helicopter pilot. Or, probably, it’s Beyoncé’s personal full-time life documentarian. After years of it though, it must feel natural. Natural to be natural when there’s someone around filming it all, especially when you get to edit and curate the footage and store it for years. In a way it’s almost presidential, non?
