That intimacy, the almost uncomfortable feeling that you’re watching something too real, too private, too hard, too close... they’re able to capture that in these two minutes and leave you, maybe too much, wanting to see more. Don’t you want to see how they fall apart? And aren’t you afraid? This, by the way, is not a spoiler. It’s widely, widely known that Blue Valentine tracks the very authentic struggles of a couple in love, and not.
I’ve repeated this clip three times over now. And it’s brought back those same emotions I felt while watching the full film. Can’t wait for you to see it. Blue Valentine opens in December.
