One of my favourites from awards season – Guillermo del Toro is a genius. A fairy tale but a dark one…there is no pink and there are no princes but that’s the best part. Pan’s is so beautifully told and so hauntingly portrayed, unlike the light fare of others in the genre, this one will stay with you for a long, long time.

Pan’s Labyrinth will be released on DVD on May 22nd.

I have 5 copies to give away – if you are interested, send an email to [email protected] with Pan’s as the subject. Please make sure to title your message Pan’s to ensure that your entry is received properly. One condition, super easy in relation to today’s first post: is Lenny a Purse for Penny? Yes or No will suffice.

Entries must be received by Sunday May 13th noon PST. Winners will be selected randomly, winners contacted shortly thereafter. Good luck!

Pan’s Labyrinth Official Synopsis:
"Guillermo del Toro"s haunting fairy tale PAN"S LABYRINTH is a fanciful and chilling story set against the backdrop of a fascist regime in 1944 rural Spain. The film centers on Ofelia, a lonely and dreamy child living with her mother and adoptive father; a military officer tasked with ridding the area of rebels. In her loneliness, Ofelia creates a world filled with fantastical creatures and secret destinies. With post-war repression at its height, Ofelia must come to terms with her world through a fable of her own creation.
