Drew Barrymore launched her own wine last year. Because she’s no longer the quirky girl with daisies in her hair. She’s now great with a baby sling and a skillet, hosts dinner parties, and why not monetise that sh-t?
Now the Brange is also getting in on the drinking game. As you know, the Brange are half French unofficially because they own a chateau, Miraval. It was announced today that their first wine, a rosé, will be available for sale next month. It is produced at Miraval and is a joint venture with the Perrin Family of Chateau Beaucastel. (Imagine being introduced like that? That you are of a family of a chateau?) While the Brange had little to do with the actual wine making, they did help design the bottle and the label that will carry the names “Jolie-Pitt and Perrin”. Said Brad Pitt through his publicist:
“We are intimately involved and quite enthused over the wine project with our friends the Perrin family.”
Educate me you wine know-it-alls. Is it a new wine if you simply change the name? Apparently this rosé is being described as “new” even though it used to be called Pink Floyd. There’s a restaurant in the South of France close to Cannes called Tetou where Brange love to eat and at least two years ago, you could order Pink Floyd there.
Whatever. It doesn’t matter. All that matters now is that the Brange are linked by children, real estate, and now alcohol. And a taste of that will be accessible to you at your dinner table soon.
Here’s Drew last night at the Tommy Hilfiger (really?!) store opening last night. Not feeling the lipstick but love what she’s wearing.
