I’m sure I don’t need me to refresh your memory on Brad Pitt’s comments about his “dull” marriage to Jennifer Aniston in Parade Magazine that made every headline yesterday. The word “pathetic” was thrown in there too. Let that be a sign. That Gossip will be Good this season. Very, very good.

After all the attention it generated yesterday, Brad has now released a statement clarifying the sh-t talk he threw at his ex-wife’s face.

"It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself – and that, I am responsible for."

In other words, the classic “It’s not you, it’s me”.

I never want this to end.

Perhaps his people were anxious that this would jeopardise Moneyball’s chances. Perhaps they worried that he’d alienated more than just Aniston’s fanbase. Whatever the reason, I don’t think it’s helped. Because what he’s actually saying here is that, to get all Oprah on you, he wasn’t the best version of himself when he was with her. And that it took a Jolie to bring that out in him which, again, speaks to Angelina > Jennifer. And therefore a continuation of all things Brange vs Aniston.

To say nothing of the stories that the tabloids will be able to spin out of this. That his intimate reference to “Jen” and his confirmation that they “remain friends” and his complimentary words about her “giving, loving, and hilarious” nature will inevitably elicit the Jolie jealousy resulting in the kind of balls out brawling that you want so badly to believe goes down in their chateau.

And you thought they were getting boring?

Never!

Conveniently, as news broke of Brad’s controversial comments about their time together, Jennifer Aniston was photographed, all smiles, in New York with Justin Theroux last night leaving her apartment. Her hair is freshly blown out. She’s looks happy and fresh and maybe even a little smug. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Please.

She loves this game. F-ck, I love this game. How can you not love this game?

Also attached, in anticipation of the Emmy Awards on Sunday, here are Brad and Jen at their last Emmys ever. Just some Gossip Nostalgia to enter the weekend.
