Brad Pitt was papped in London last night. He went to see Bradley Cooper in The Elephant Man. But the main reason he’s there is to attend Guy Ritchie’s wedding. Guy’s getting married today. Other guests include David Beckham and Jason Statham. The Daily Mail is rumouring that George and Amal Clooney and also Gwyneth Paltrow have been invited. That sounds like bullsh-t to me but whatever. Brad’s sleeping in a luxury tent tonight on Guy’s estate where the wedding will take place.
While he’s celebrating with Guy, Angelina Jolie is in Myanmar advocating on behalf of refugees. She went there straight from Cambodia. As you know, the Jolie will be directing First They Killed My Father: A Daughter Of Cambodia Remembers, based on the book by Loung Ung, this fall for Netflix. She spoke to the AP this week about the project – you can read the interview here - and Maddox’s role in the production:
“Maddox will be on set every day after school and involved behind the scenes. And yes, Maddox is already involved in the (Maddox Jolie-Pitt) Foundation and will take over my role when he is older.”
Most of the time when we talk about celebrities and the family business, the family business is show business. Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s children are acting and singing. Cindy Crawford’s kids are modelling now. Brooklyn Beckham is becoming a social media star.
Although Vivienne Jolie-Pitt has already had a starring role in a movie, the Jolie-Pitt family business, in this case, for Maddox, appears to be philanthropy. He had his own foundation, after all, before he was diaper trained. Maddox turns 14 next week. You think he’s on social media? How do you stop them? I have two nephews and a niece. They’ve been Facebooking and Instagramming and whatever-ing for years. What does that look like when your mother is Angelina Jolie and your dad is Brad Pitt?
