As noted the other day - click here for a refresher - Jennifer Lawrence is not only almost guaranteed a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her work in Silver Linings Playbook, right now, many people predict that she will win. I wonder how that momentum will hold through the season. We should have an even clearer picture of it after the film opens in a couple of weeks.
Yesterday in my post about Bradley Cooper’s cover feature in Esquire I mentioned that my favourite part of the interview about Coop was when David O. Russell, director of Silver Linings Playbook, referred to Coop’s anger as one of the reasons he was perfect for the role. My favourite part of the interview overall however was what he said about Jennifer Lawrence.
David O. Russell: Did you talk about Jennifer [Lawrence]? Very strong instincts.
Bradley Cooper: It's uncanny. Twenty-two years old.
Esquire: She's a baby.
BC: Her truth meter is severe. We would defer to her when we were trying to figure things out and she'd be like: Bam!
DOR: You don't know what the fuck's going on with her. You talk to her and you think she's just hanging out, but she's like Joe DiMaggio. She gets on the field and you're like, What the f-ck just happened? She came in and hit a triple and then walked off and acted like nothing's happening. Sometimes she sounds like a 40-year-old, and then she says something that reminds you that she's not. And you think, Am I getting into a serious conversation with you? Go f-ck yourself, punk. Go learn a couple things before you talk to me that way. (Source)
One day, I’m sure, because my fickle meter is severe, I’m sure I’ll fall out of love. But right now, I don’t want to stop. God I love her so much.
