The Hangover Part 2, despite terrible reviews, was HUGE business at the box office this weekend. Sarah from Cinesnark will have more in depth analysis on the numbers tomorrow. For now, in short, where Bradley Cooper is concerned, that’s two for two. After the success of Limitless, and now this? Not bad for a guy who used to open doors, literally, for Leonardo DiCaprio. And it’s not just the girls who are hungry for movie stardom. Bradley Cooper really, really wants to be a movie star. He may have wanted that more than he loved Renee Zellweger.
Anyway, after touring Europe last week to promote The Hangover 2, this is Coop in Paris at Roland Garros for the French Open with Tony Parker this weekend. Did you know Coop is fluent in French? Here’s a recent interview he did on French radio.
Right???
Coop is apparently also now screenwriting. He’s trying to write a film adaptation for The Hyperion Cantos, as told to Charlie Rose:
"My friend and I, Conal Byrne, went to Graham King [...] and we wrote a treatment on spec, saying, 'Look, I know this is a very audacious endeavor, but can you just read this spec we wrote? We think we have a way in to tell the story. So we wrote it and now we're negotiating to write the script for it." (Source)
No, he’s not an actor bimbo. (Please don’t write to me and say “Hey Lainey, the male version of Bimbo is Himbo!” because, um, gross.) He’s informed and educated; Coop actually has an awareness beyond just Hollywood. It’s hot. Olivia Wilde must think so although she has not been sighted, at least not so far, on this press tour with him. By the time he gets back to New York, the way she’s been enjoying her single-ness, which is totally how I would play it too if I were her, she’ll probably be on to her next famous conquest. Ryan Reynolds?
