It’s fashion week in London. Yesterday was the Burberry show. And Cara Delevingne showed up in a wonderfully dramatic black dress with a cloaked back that I wish I could afford. Still, that wasn’t the highlight of her look. The highlight of her look is what appears to be a black line painted from under her chin, down her chest, all the way to her navel. Some are wondering if it’s a permanent tattoo or whether or not it’s a new trend in accessorising temporarily applied.
I don’t know if I like it but I can’t stop looking at it. Probably because it’s kind of freaking me out. The visual effect is that her head is being propped up on a black stick. It’s weird and it’s creepy but I also kinda dig the way the stark blackness of the line works with her outfit. Even when she changes into a different outfit though it still becomes the only thing you focus on. Would you try this? Let’s say all you want to go out is a blank tank and a pair of jeans. Would you brush a solid black line down the middle of your body the way you’d throw on a chunky necklace or a pair of statement earrings to pop up the outfit?
