Carrie Fisher’s HBO special Wishful Drinking, based on her one woman show which was based on her memoir, aired last night. Fisher has become something of a gay icon – her mother, her Leia-ness, her gay ex-husband, her attitude...

She was interviewed again by The Advocate and was asked about John Travolta. You know, his alleged trips to the man spa where he supposedly received the daily special. And I STILL don’t understand why this is such a f-cking mystery for some people.

The Advocate: In the September 2009 issue of Out, you participated in its monthly Can I Be Blunt? column by sharing 10 things that gay men should know about straight women. One of those things was, “We don’t really care that John Travolta is gay.” I know you and Travolta go way back, so let’s get really blunt here: Does his legal team have any business demanding Gawker remove a recent post suggesting that he’s given blow jobs?

Carrie Fisher: Wow! I mean, my feeling about John has always been that we know and we don’t care. Look, I’m sorry that he’s uncomfortable with it, and that’s all I can say. It only draws more attention to it when you make that kind of legal fuss. Just leave it be.

Right. So here we are, again, with what seems to be confirmation. And still I get emails every day all like: Lainey, I don’t know if I believe this, his publicist and his lawyer say it’s not true.

Why are you so inclined to believe people who are PAID TO LIE? Especially as it relates to a celebrity?

Oh...right...

Because the Mighty Oprah would never lie.

When she invites Travolta onto her show and helps him sell his conventional straight marriage, that right there is an honest sales pitch, 100%. Fine then. I guess John Travolta isn’t gay. The Oprah tells me so.

As for Carrie – will she be ok? Or will the Church be on her ass like, well, like Travolta in a steam room? I’m sorry... I couldn’t resist. And I hope they try. I hope they try to work their voodoo sh-t on Carrie Fisher who doesn’t. Give. A. F-ck.

Her dad left her ma for Elizabeth Taylor. She’s been through hell and back with addiction. She married a gay man who came out when they split. This bitch has seen and done it all. She can take down the Xenu. And she’ll mobilise a gay army to help her with that. Please. Let’s start this war right now.

Here’s Carrie with Debbie Reynolds, Joely Fisher, and brother Todd at the premiere of Wishful Drinking last week.
