I loved Maria Full of Grace. Have you seen it?

Catalina Sandino Moreno was nominated for an Oscar for that role. And deservedly so. I wish I had a name like Catalina Sandino Moreno. I wish I looked like Catalina Sandino Moreno.

There’s a great story about her on a red carpet. Donovan was shooting it and when the tapes came back, there was like a full on 5 minutes of b-roll just of Catalina Sandino Moreno standing there posing. Full body shots too. Up and down, close ups of her face, slow pans into and away from her body. So Laura called him on it afterwards – like WTF? What was up with the 5 minutes of Catalina? And Donovan sheepishly shrugged and said he thought the footage might be useful for the “fashion” bits.

No but seriously…this is a dude who shoots celebrities, beautiful celebrities, all the time. At this point, he’s almost numb to them. So when one stands out, it’s because she truly stands out.

We saw her at AMFAR on Thursday. It was an evening of foundation overload. So many of them, even all the models, especially Petra Nemcova, had on several layers of powder and concealer, and in walks Catalina Sandino Moreno with NOTHING on her face and Dylan tried to climb over the annoying dude from Holland who was on the line next to us to get a good shot.

I always wonder what happened with Catalina and Jakey Gyllenhaal. They dated briefly in 2005, like for 2 weeks, before fizzling out quickly. Probably the most impressive notch on his belt.
