My etalk colleague Danielle McGimsie is one of the best television presenters I know. Her voiceovers are amazing. No one does a read like Danielle. And when she’s at a junket? Never mind. Danielle always brings back a strong interview for the show, even when the actor she’s interviewing is sh-t. So when you combine Danielle with Channing Tatum, one of the kindest, most generous, nicest celebrities to interview, the result is gold.

Before you click on the teaser video though, understand that this could have gone BADLY. These are fragile creatures. They often don’t have a sense of humour. He could have thrown her out.

But he’s Channing Tatum. He would never throw her out. Channing Tatum is one of the few – very, very few, like not even Hugh Jackman does this – to stand up when the reporter comes in the room to shake hands AND walk the reporter out the door at the end of the interview.

Right?

Come on!

You canNOT hate on him. You can’t.

Channing Tatum is there to make sure you get what you need to promote his movie. He understands that the reporter has a job and that his job is to help the reporter. His first instinct is not to complain or to be bored but to have fun. Every time it’s fun talking to Channing Tatum. Even when you’re basically telling him that, well, he’s just kinda nice to look at.
