Chris Pratt is about to start heavy press for Jurassic World. So he posted a pre-apology on Facebook in the event that he f-cks up during an interview. It’s wonderful. He is wonderful. Let’s read it together first:

I want to make a heartfelt apology for whatever it is I end up accidentally saying during the forthcoming #JurassicWorld...

For starters, this is good, clever writing. The timing is excellent. But the best part of it is that Chris Pratt was likely never going to offend anyone. Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum on junkets? They’re not smug, they’re not lazy, they’re not petulant…

They are there to do their jobs. And they actually do respect that reporters have a job to do too. I know this from experience. No one on a junket is freaking out and nervous before an interview with Chris Pratt or Channing Tatum. No one is worried that they’ll be assholes. And I’m telling you this because too often, before you go into a room, you’re petrified by what might come at you in a 5 minute conversation about A F-CKING MOVIE, Julia Roberts.

So is Chris Pratt kinda sh-tting on his superhero peers from the Marvel family after that messy Avengers publicity tour? Yes. Subversively, he is. But he also knows that their egos will only read that he’s sh-tting on the internet for making it such a big deal. The key subtext here though is – come on, guys, we play pretend for a living and people want to talk to us, desperately. Is that really so hard???
