Not sure which one. And it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that this is Christian Bale last night at the Hollywood Film Festival alongside The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan and it’s been a long time because of course he’s intensely private, even though he lives in LA, he manages to stay under the radar which just goes to show you it is indeed possible so f&ck off Ben Affleck and the others for complaining about the intrusion when the truth is you go courting it every day anyway.

As for reports of a 3rd in this current iteration of the Batman series – it’s a good example of the how full of sh-t the British tabs can sometimes be.

You’ll recall, they practically signed the contract for Johnny Depp to appear as the Riddler, right?

Nolan however was pretty clear, though “slippery”, recently in an interview with the LA Times. He’s anywhere near a script:

Well ... let me think how to put this. There are two things to be said. One is the emphasis on story. What’s the story? Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name? [Laughs.] At the same time, in taking on the second one, we had the challenge of trying to make a great second movie, and there haven't been too many of those either. It’s all about the story really. If the story is there, everything is possible. I hope that was a suitably slippery answer.

Most seem to think there will be a third...eventually. But stories of what and who and which star etc are grossly premature.

Iron Man 2 however is full steam ahead. Further ahead than let on. Jon Favreau has apparently been in pre-production with Stan Winston for months. Like… months. And the story was ready months ago too.
