Christian Bale candids are few and far between. Must take advantage. Here he is with his girls yesterday in Hollywood, nearly at the end of what’s been a year of highs and lows.

The Dark Knight is widely regarded as one of the best films of the year and while it was ignored by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, many believe it still has a chance at an Oscar nomination.

Christian also worked with Johnny Depp in next summer’s Public Enemies (please… can you wait another 6 months???) and completed principle photography on Terminator Salvation, also due next year. 2009 will be Bale-heavy. Yay!

Sucky moments in 2008?

Remember when his mom and sister accused him of abusing them? And the scandal that ensued? And the barely-a-blip coverage the story received when he was completely exonerated? Which means amateur gossips are still walking around thinking he’s a beater? They’ll keep putting that little asterisk beside his name. Makes me mad!

Speaking of Little Women… remember he played Laurie?

No matter how old I get and, supposedly, more understanding of the ways of the world, I will never read Little Women and want for anything other than Jo and Laurie. A friend of mine said the other day that his ending up with Amy was one of the last great literary surprises. Agree?

And just imagine… now a new generation of girls caring more for the Cullen Family than the March girls.
