Check out Daniel Craig working on Bond Skyfall in London the other day. Bond is expected to return to theatres on November 9 but we may see him well before, at the Olympics, where he’ll apparently be opening the Games on July 27th...
What?
It’s a story that originated from the UK Sun which, you know, normally an eye-roll and let’s move on, only with Danny Boyle managing the Opening Ceremony it really does sound like a plausible idea.
Here’s how it’s supposed to go down:
Bond is summoned to Buckingham Palace. He’s ordered by the Queen to launch the Games. Then he’s taken to the stadium and parachuted into the arena. Let the Games begin.
Apparently unprecedented access was granted inside the Palace; it’s already been shot, and the Queen may actually appear in the film. It is after all her Diamond Jubilee year, and the 50th anniversary of Bond on film, one of the most recognisable British institutions; if done properly, that could be a badass entrance...fronted by Daniel Craig, and watched by BILLIONS, as the current face of the franchise. Sh-t. I’m already nervous for him.
