This is what it’s come to, I guess. It’s really, really, REALLY over when you un-follow your husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/lover on Twitter. And re-follow for a booty call, and then un-follow anew to mark that it’s done for good.

Shortly after Demi Moore released her statement yesterday that she’s to divorce Ashton Kutcher, they un-followed each other on Twitter. It must be hate. But...there are other signs too.

You know, most celebrity statements usually come with a generic sentence arbitrarily placed somewhere in the middle about how they’re still friends or how it’s still civil between them. With Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt it was as follows:

"We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another.”

For Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds, it was the same:

“We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it.”

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were less specific but still insisted on there being a lack of hostility:

“We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."

Demi Moore’s statement?

Offered NOTHING in the way of good will. Ashton, of course, took to Twitter to wish her well, whatever, but she not only put her message out there well before the weekend, she went out of her way to suggest that his infidelity was the cause of their separation AND had no kindness to extend to commemorate their time together.

This coming from a Hollywood veteran... is very telling.

There’s money involved, sure. But it might also be pre-emptive. Already Star Magazine and Radar Online are reporting that theirs was an open marriage and that Ashton just got sloppy, embarrassing Demi to the point where she couldn’t turn back. Now it’s been suggested that she’s simply trying to portray herself as the victim, so as to position herself in the most favourable light to begin her new single life. Yeah I buy that. But only half way.

My sources tell me that the more accurate explanation might be that it was hard for both of them when she couldn’t get pregnant. And he was supposedly resistant to adoption. As a concession, they apparently decided to have their extracurricular fun together, only on specific occasions, like private parties, when they were both around, both in view of each other, and never alone, never on their own, never without the other’s immediate consent every time. For her benefit mostly. As time went on, it wasn’t enough for him and he broke their agreement, going rogue behind her back. That’s one version of the story.

But he was only 25 when they started dating, 27 when they married. These are not the actions of a man who wanted to stay; these are the actions of a man who was too weak to tell her he wanted out, and sabotaged it to the point where she had no choice. Ashton Kutcher is a child and a coward, any way the truth comes out, he is a f-cking coward. For me though I wonder how she could have loved this punk for so long. He’s not smart, he’s not funny, he’s not kind, all he is is tall and goodlooking which...

I mean, I guess. I guess.

Why is loneliness so threatening?
