Plot Synopsis (from the website): American Dreamz DVD Filmmaker Paul Weitz winds humor and satire while poking fun at American culture and society in the American Dreamz DVD. The story follows several people, first off - President Staton (Dennis Quaid) whose intelligence is somewhat questionable. He decides to read a newspaper for the first time and soon becomes obsessed with the world of the news. His ever savy Chief of Staff (William Dafoe), who realizes that the Presidents approval rating is quickly dropping, books him as a judge on the country"s most popular show - the wee! kly musical talent show "American Dreamz". The show is run by Martin Tweed (Hugh Grant), who craves attention just as much as he craves money. His latest group of celebrity wannabees includes Sally Kendoo (Mandy Moore), a conniving wannabee that will do anything to reach the top.
