One of the earliest rumours about the True Detective Season 2 casting was that Ellen Page and Kate Mara would replace Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. I was excited about that. I didn’t really care for Season 1 but if they’d set it up like that for Season 2, I was in. Didn’t happen. Instead, as we know now, it’s Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn, with Taylor Kitsch as a possible and they’re still looking for the female lead.
Now that we know though that it would be a female duo headlining the show, Ellen and Kate are making it funny. Never mind the obvious reason why it couldn’t possibly be two women cops…
The only explanation is that it’s because, well, they’re too short.
