As mentioned last week, TIFF this year is boasting a killer lineup with Cate and Clive and Colin and Gosling already confirmed to show their latest prestige projects. More confirmations just in, more super A List names will be touching down in Toronto in September. My home town will play host to some of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
George Clooney will appear in Michael Clayton with Sydney Pollack and Tilda Swinton at a Gala Presentation, another Oscar winner Jodie Foster will be shown in The Brave One, and Joaquin Phoenix’s Reservation Road will premiere at TIFF as well, co-starring Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Connelly.
Finally… there’s Reese and Jake’s Rendition, set for a Gala Premiere which means this could be the third year running that Reese graces TIFF after Walk the Line and Penelope in 2006. You all know the sparks between Reese and Joaq when they played John and June – some say unrequited love on his part, some say perhaps a little more. And given her recent hook up split up with Jake, the three of them in town all at once is making my smutty sense tingle. Especially when you consider a funky coincidence: word is Joaq was actually supposed to star in Brokeback but couldn’t commit.
Small pool, non?
