Not me. Too bad. But he does love Lainey, his daughter. He has three daughters, Haili, Whitney, and Lainey. Whitney and Lainey were adopted and not much more is known about this because Em keeps his sh-t tight. So while we will never hold hands, at the very least I know he loves my name. In a sick way, this is good enough.
Eminem’s Recovery is now available. I just downloaded it this morning. Will run to it later which will hopefully ease the pain and boredom. Em said he ran through his recovery. When he kicked drugs, he needed another obsession, he’d just run like 15 miles a day. Now he’s moderated that too. And Recovery is expected to bring some much needed relief to a recording industry that’s been in a slump for months. Sales are down, and this means across digital platforms too, and Em has always delivered, both artistically and commercially.
But his approach these days is much different, even as it relates to touring, which is where the money is now for musicians. Em told the New York Times (source) that touring brings with it a temptation to go back to drugs and alcohol. So he’s not touring, not yet, but he is performing, with Jay-Z in September and on the roof at Letterman last night for an episode airing Friday. Here they are leaving the studio yesterday.
