Emma Stone at the Palais tonight in Cannes...
And…
Le sigh.
Of course. She’s gorgeous. She’s wearing the hell out of it. She’s just so lovely. And I love how playful and fun she was, hamming it up for photographers. But. It’s a wedding dress, isn’t it? It’s like what Renee Zellweger would wear to her own wedding? Isn’t this such a Renee Zellweger dress? I just didn’t want to see Emma Stone wearing a Renee Zellweger dress, you know?
That said, it’s maybe the most “grownup” dress we’ve ever seen on Emma. And she’s holding it with a lot of poise. So I wonder if this was strategic. Like if this was a deliberate declaration, her transition from “young actress” to ACTOR. Clothes can be a big part of that kind of plan.
