Someone sent me an email yesterday after seeing Emma Stone at the Venice Film Festival gala premiere of Birdman expressing disappointment about the dress. I was confused. This dress, to me, on her, isn’t disappointing at all.
This is such a gorgeously rich dark green. It’s stunning against her skin, her hair. And, don’t hate me for saying it, but it makes me kind of excited for fall. For the smell of fall. And the clothes of fall. When you don’t have to wipe the sweat from under your tits if a leather jacket looks good over your drapey dress and you can wear tights or not wear tights and sweater over jeans too.
That said, it’s a tricky dress with all that tulle. That’s why it can’t be light. It can’t be, say, pink. Imagine if it were pink? Gross. And it’s not a dress for everyone. On someone else it might indeed look kinda horror prom, for sure. On someone else it’s the People Choice Awards. Imagine it on Kaley Cuoco? Piss.
This is what Emma Stone can do for a dress.
And I do love her hair that length.
