Another one in a growing list. Jessica Biel has said that her beauty is a burden to her getting great roles. Evangeline Lilly has complained about that too. And now Eva Mendes who is currently promoting The Other Guys in which she plays Will Ferrell’s hot wife and apparently the big joke about that in the movie is that she’s so hot but not to him, that he’s oblivious to her hotness, and this makes it funny. Sure.

So it’s about her looks then. ALL about her looks. What? Oh but wait for it.

OF COURSE Eva thinks it’s more than just her looks. She told Allure that she’s into art and reads The Fountainhead. Saying she reads Ayn Rand automatically means she’s more than a sick body. As for that body...

Here’s the body in the new issue of Allure. Eva has bared that body in film on a few occasions. And she wants you to applaud her for it. She wants you to be inspired by it. She wants you to admire her courage for it:

“(When) other actresses who aren’t thought of, maybe, as being quite as attractive do full-frontal, they’re called brave. Nobody has ever said, ‘Eva, you’re so brave for doing full-frontal nudity.’ Just because I’m attractive doesn’t mean it’s not still scary. Why am I not brave?”

Really.

I didn’t make up the quote. Really. That really, really came out of her mouth.

And no. Stop right there. There’s nothing profound about it. There’s no defence for it. There’s no other way to describe it other than to call it, and her, a SIT DOWN. Eva Mendes wants a f-cking congressional medal for her “bravery”.
