It was announced yesterday that Fergie will be one of the judges in Avon’s global online singing competition for women and a songwriting competition for men and women. Avon Voices is now open for registration. There’ s a list of songs on the website. Then you have to submit a video. And the web community gets to vote. If you go for it, let me know. I want to see!
Along with Fergie, other judges include “legendary songwriter, Diane Warren; Natasha Bedingfield, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter; Lea Salonga, Filipina singer and actress; Ivete Sangalo, Brazil’s biggest pop star; and Russian sensation, Valeriya”.
Throughout the year, Avon will make some of the song selections available for download with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the Avon Foundation for Women’s global campaign to end violence against women and girls.

Fergie was in New York last night and was photographed after dinner with Josh Duhamel. She looks good in those pants. Coincidentally a year ago, on the same day I was headed for Tofino, Us Weekly broke the story that he’d been unfaithful to her. Some trick said she spent the night with him in Atlanta. As you know, Fergie stood by her man, and the scandal eventually blew over.
The Black Eyed Peas were confirmed last week as the halftime act at the Super Bowl. For some reason, a lot of people weren’t down with this. Because they wanted the old rockers to keep on with the Post-Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake tradition.
Please.
The Peas are not controversial, it’s hype music, and sometimes you need a break from Paul McCartney. Also, I Gotta Feeling is a Running Playlist staple. I always get an extra kick of energy when the shuffle comes to that one.
