Charlize Theron was pretty quiet in 2016. The Huntsman: Winter’s War didn’t do much at the beginning of the year. She was in Cannes for Sean Penn’s film The Last Face, which bombed at the festival. And I don’t remember her doing a lot of heavy promoting for Kubo And The Two Strings, which is nominated for two Oscars.

Charlize will be at the Oscars on Sunday as a presenter, not only to represent Kubo And The Two Strings but also because she has two major upcoming releases – The Fate Of The Furious and Atomic Blonde. F8 comes first in April and I feel like there’s no way she won’t be a presence on the press tour. Otherwise why would they have cast her? After that it’s Atomic Blonde. The movie was originally titled The Coldest City with Charlize playing an MI6 spy. It comes out July 28th. A possible summer blockbuster about a “Her Majesty’s most lethal assassin”? That explains the name change. I agree with it. Atomic Blonde is a much better title. And I’m excited about seeing more Charlize, first at the Oscars. It’ll be Dior, probably. At last year’s Oscars she wore a red Dior and Duana liked it. Charlize is always a presence on the carpet. She’ll no doubt be a presence on Sunday, and then for the next few months after that.
