2009 was a light year for Gwyneth on the work front. By the way, her last film Two Lovers was just named by the National Board of Review as one of the Top 10 independent films of the year.

But Gwyneth, in the midst of rumoured marital discord, will be looking ahead to a very busy 2010 that includes promotion for Iron Man 2, working with Nicole Kidman on The Danish Girl, and now a new project has just been announced.

Love Don’t Let Me Down is a “country singing drama” that will shoot in Nashville in January. G plays a washed up has-been country artist who messes around with a young performer, Garrett Hedlund, while her husband, Tim McGraw, manages both their careers. Then Leighton Meester joins them on tour and f-cks everything to sh-t. And Tobey Maguire is producing.

So Gwyneth Paltrow’s next role is a country crooning cougar. I love it. She better work a perm for authenticity.

As for what’s going on with Chris Martin – Coldplay isn’t touring until February so perhaps he’ll move to Tennessee with the kids while she’s filming. Perhaps he’ll also get started on that lawsuit against Star Magazine because he says they lied about him cheating on his wife with Kate Bosworth. Right.

Oh and this week’s GOOP is about creative gift giving and monogramming iPods and cutting boards.
