GOOPy’s low membership

GOOP subscription is doing very well – and many of you can vouch for this. Gwyneth Paltrow’s other project, however, is reportedly not thriving. At all.

As you know, G is opening a gym in New York with her trainer Tracy Anderson –the woman responsible for “revolutionising” her body, and Madonna’s too – with the promise that ordinary civilians can also get Gwyneth’s gams for the bargain price of $4,500 (initiation) and several hundred dollars a month.

Unfortunately business is not booming and Gwnnie’s representatives now must suffer the indignity of cold calling for new clients. In this economy, Gwyneth’s sales pitch simply isn’t working. After all, most of us know that looking like G requires more than a membership. There’s the private studio next to the apple orchard on her property, and private training sessions, and of course 2 to 3 hours every day to spare performing a combination of dance aerobics and a million reps of targeted lifts and stretches – the Tracy Anderson Method – to achieve the same results. Maybe.

It’s not just the money that’s unrealistic, it’s also the time.

Who has that kind of time?

Found this video on YouTube – a brief demonstration of what Tracy’s sessions are like:

Granted the cardio component of her program is not included but …when does your heart rate start going up? Working out with Hayley McGowan seems way harder.
