Max Factor has released four new images of Gwyneth Paltrow from their new campaign, each look inspired by a style icon to celebrate 100 Years of Glamour.
G’s homage to Farrah Fawcett and the 70s was revealed earlier this year with a behind-the-scenes video of her describing the transformation. To me, she sounded bored, either because she’d just spent hours in hair and makeup (what a sh-tty life) or because, well, G’s not exactly “just a model chameleon”. Some would consider an honour to be asked to dress up as other famous people. She might consider it…not of her station?
Especially when one of those people happens to be Madonna, representing the 80s, her ex-friend, now frenemy.
Ironically, that might be my favourite image. I love G with the shorter hair, the bright eye makeup and lips, with the chains hanging off her neck in a slouchy pose. But I imagine that might be embarrassing for her. That she’s fronting an ad in which she has to imitate someone she’s no longer speaking to. Fortunately for her, Angelina Jolie isn’t a blonde.
