Have been really, really impressed with Hailee Steinfeld’s awards season and premiere style choices. Her selection for the BAFTAs however fell a little short of standard. Not feeling the tricked out sheer top. Not feeling whatever it is that’s coming out of her waist. Reminds me of Mad Men and Christina Hendricks which, is fine for Hendricks, but maybe not a 14 year old who’s been doing a great job of looking 14 in an industry and on a circuit that ages people too quickly. Also the length the skirt is all kinds of Queen Mum. I suppose the argument here is that yay we can’t see her crotch. There must be a happy medium. There must be. Maybe a better effort at the Oscars in two weeks then, yes?

Especially since, as mentioned earlier, there are a few experts who are calling for Steinfeld to bust in with an upset and take the Best Supporting Actress award, including Dave Karger from Entertainment Weekly. You can see his predictions here. Youth is generally favoured in her category. Which only makes it even more critical that she doesn’t dress like menopause on what could be the moment she’s remembered for for decades to come.
