Zack Snyder, the director of Man Of Steel and the upcoming Batman vs Superman, talked some sh-t recently about his superheroes and the Marvel superheroes. Basically he’s saying that the Marvel guys, Iron Man, Captain America etc will come and go. But that Batman and Superman are forever:

But I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they’re Batman and Superman. They’re not just, like, the flavour of the week Ant-Man – not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?

Speaking of Blank-Man…

Here’s Henry Cavill at an event last night in London. Cavill’s coming off the disappointing The Man From U.N.C.L.E. We won’t see him again at the movies until he’s in the Superman suit for the second time. Again, as I’ve said too many times, this is Superman …and…well…no one knows who he is. So while I understand Zack Snyder’s loyalties and can see how he might have a point that Batman and Superman belong on their own tier, the problem right now is that the actor currently playing Superman hasn’t transcended anything. And he’s the second actor in a row to play Superman, after Brandon Routh (who? exactly), who’s come out flat. It’s not a great testament to the character, is it?
