Henry Cavill said he couldn’t talk about Fifty Shades Of Darker Grey the other day – click here for a refresher. So we assumed that meant that he was negotiating to play the love rival. And Armie Hammer’s hilarious reaction was exactly what everyone thought about that career move.
Now, in a new interview, he says definitively that it’s not true:
“It would be a lot of fun to continue this ruse… but I’m not doing it.”
So Superman has decided he’s not going to be the James Marsden character in every romantic comedy, or X-Men. Poor James Marsden is always the Other Guy Who She Doesn’t Choose. And when he is finally The One in a Nicholas Sparks movie, nobody cares.
Anyway, unless they were throwing stupid money at him, I can’t imagine Henry’s management would have been big on this idea. You can’t go from being the Man of Steel to a joke version of James Marsden. And that’s the moral of the story, isn’t it? Right now, that’s how they perceive the possibility of being cast in the Fifty Shades sequels – a joke.
