Am not complaining about seeing adorable photos of Hugh Jackman with his wife and children at the pumpkin patch. Not at all. Am complaining however about how early the Halloween decorations go up.

Last week I saw them everywhere: witch masks at the drug store, haunted house displays at the grocery, and it’s not even October. A month. A month is enough time, non? And worse still, a week before Halloween the Christmas business starts sprouting.

Fine, fine. Let me stop sounding like an crusty hag.

It is my favourite time of year. Love the colours, love orange, love the smell, especially where I was raised in Toronto, when the leaves start falling and it’s like burnt cinnamon surrounds you everywhere, and everyone gets excited about Thanksgiving…

Summer is over. Don’t be sad.
