Simon Pegg is co-writing the next Star Trek movie. He was asked at CinemaCon yesterday about his progress…and whether or not the rumours were true that Idris would be joining the cast. His response:
“We’re trying to write him a kick-ass role!”
Villains are the ones most likely to be kick ass. So most people are taking this to be confirmation. Idris Elba will be in the next Star Trek. I’d see the next Star Trek anyway because I thought the first two movies were quite good, surprisingly, because I have never, ever been into the Trekkie thing. But now? Extra, extra incentive.
