Dear Gossips,
The Cannes Film Festival announced its lineup today featuring some strong Canadian representation from David Cronenberg, Atom Egoyan, and the darling Xavier Dolan. Jesus. He’s only 25 years old. And it seems like every year Dolan has a film for the festival. So incredibly productive. Dolan’s latest, Mommy, is screening in competition this time, his first time. I miss his glasses. I wonder if he’ll ever bring them back.
More on Cannes later this morning. But after over a year of absence, Ryan Gosling will be there. And it’s always a good show when he shows up on the Croisette, even though he skipped last year when Only God Forgives was part of the festival.
FYI on blog scheduling: it’s a holiday in Canada tomorrow and I will not be blogging. I’m sorry about the inconvenience. We’re back on Monday!
