Yesterday, the Cannes Film Festival announced its full jury for this year. And many are calling it the most physically attractive jury ever which I’m sure will go over well with the jury members. Still, it’s not like you can’t see it, right?
Jury co-presidents Ethan and Joel Cohen will be joined by 7 others including Sophie Marceau, Rokia Traore, Guillermo del Toro, and Canada’s cinematic wonderboy Xavier Dolan because – can you believe it? – at just 26 years old, he’s had four films in the festival and doesn’t have one ready yet for this season so he has time to judge. Lazy, right? And very pretty.
Then there’s Rossy de Palma, one of the most interesting faces of our time, who has also been named to the jury. You remember her from Almodovar’s Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown?
Also Jake Gyllenhaal. Jake Gyllenhall at the Palais every single night. After that, he starts pushing Southpaw and …a possible Oscar campaign? Interesting strategy. This is clearly not the year he keeps it undercover. This is the time Jake wants to be seen. No complaints.
