Have you seen Karl Lagerfeld’s new Chanel short film featuring Pharrell and Cara Delevingne yet? I watched it on Monday and had no idea what was happening. And I also didn’t understand why “Seep Seep” keeps repeating throughout. It’s actually not “Seep Seep”. It’s “C C”. For Chanel. And there’s a whole backstory I missed too that Jezebel has helpfully deconstructed. Art is not for the masses… I guess? (See below)
The masses get a live production of Peter Pan on NBC tomorrow night. And a Lifetime movie about Whitney Houston produced by Angela Bassett. I’ll take Peter Pan over Karl’s creepy Seep Seep but I’ll take Whitney by Bassett over all of them. The movie premieres January 17th. They’re using Whitney’s music but not Whitney’s voice. And they’ve just released some new images. Click here to see. Yaya DaCosta is playing Whitney.
Am I allowed to be really into this? Whitney’s family isn’t. And you can imagine the controversy. But I can’t help it. I feel like I won’t be able to resist it. Does that make me an asshole?
