Dear Gossips,

“HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY. Now! That's the ultimate F-CK OFF”

That was Chris Brown, Grammy winner, on Twitter yesterday to those, like us here at LaineyGossip, who are appalled by his return to glory, three years after beating the sh-t out of his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Clearly, as evidenced by his tweet, he’s totally changed.

I’ll have more on this matter later but I wanted to just quickly address the emails many of you have been sending me: the one about his fans, and their tweets, supporting him, to the point of, you know, what they’d be willing to endure just to be with him. That’s one extreme. And then there are the women who have sent me messages, who were commenting on the Grammys LiveBlog that, like, it’s been 3 years and we all need to get over it and move on. The entire scale is a problem here, don’t you think? Not only the ones who would submit to a beating but also the ones who just want to shrug it off. Because if you’re not affected by the injustice, why would you want to push for change?

As Duana noted the other day, the injustice also includes the Recording Academy’s decision to not only invite Chris Brown to perform twice but to hand him an award, as if to stay, welcome back, Oh My God, we missed you so much! Like a Brown-free Grammys was some kind of organisational torture that threatened the integrity of the institution. If you’re looking for a way to tell them they f-cked up, click here.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
