How do you think Prince Charles feels today? Spain’s King Juan Carlos announced this morning that he will abdicate the throne, stepping aside for his son Prince Felipe. Felipe is 46 years old. Charles is 65. And he’s been waiting …forever.
Then again, Queen Elizabeth is decidedly more popular – at least right now – than King Juan Carlos. People are mad at Juan Carlos. And they’re mad at him about money. It’s a lot harder to get over than being perceived to be “insensitive”.
Did you have a good weekend? Angelina Jolie had a great weekend. Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent exceeded box office estimates for a gross of almost $70 million, making it her biggest opening ever. So she’s halfway there. Halfway to what? Well, there’s also Unbroken later this year. And if she can mount an award season campaign on a drama, after Maleficent’s commercial success, it’ll be another one of those I WIN AT EVERYTHING moments that set her apart from everyone else.
