Dear Gossips,

There is nothing better after weeks of travel than a Friday night at home with a high school movie classic. Please. We can’t be friends if you don’t appreciate She’s All That.

Ten years ago Freddie Prinze Jr was what Channing Tatum is now. Um, did you know that Freddie Prinze Jr now produces and directs World Wrestling Entertainment events? Things can swing so quickly in Hollywood.

As for this hysteria over Fifty Shades Of Grey - between that and Kony, you really couldn’t escape last week - I think it’s worth the read ONLY as a discussion point, or debating point, about women and how we identify and, frankly, whether or not we’re regressing. On its merits as a novel, even of its genre, I’m reminded of one of my favourite quotes from the Martin Scorsese documentary on Fran Lebowitz which, if you haven’t already, I strongly suggest you order it on whatever device you have ASAP:

“There are too many books, the books are terrible, and it’s because you have been taught to have self-esteem.”

Last week when writing about GOOP’s latest newsletter about “Conscious Loving” and how to move on after infidelity, I linked to my recent obsession His Giant Mistake, a real time blog about a woman’s experience after her husband’s cheating. The site was down for a few days but has now been restored. If you do visit, I highly recommend reading from the very beginning. It’s designed to unspool like a story. Click here to see.

A lot to get to today including Hot Harry on a Horse and clearing up this Ryan Gosling business and more. Please check back often.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
