“Sara just told me not to forget to thank the JUNOs and CARAS. When we asked our parents if we could play music instead of go to University they were very mad at us. [we then signed a label with Neil Young some time in between…] We are absolutely in our 30s…I don’t think many people thought that two queer kids from Northeast Calgary would make it here.” – Tegan of Tegan and Sara last night at the JUNO Awards where they won Single of the Year (Closer), Group of the Year, and Pop Album of the Year.
Do you love them? I love them. How can you not love them?
Winnipeg evidently did not love Justin Bieber. He was booed. Winnipeg should not love Robin Thicke who bailed on the JUNOs citing “mandatory vocal rest” but… you know… YOU KNOW. Why should we respect him when he doesn’t respect us?
