Intro for May 15, 2012

A couple that is somewhat close to us recently got their new dog and have it in my name.  I don’t want to say they named it after me but it does sort of seem that way. They also dont seem to think it is weird or odd or anything. I love animals and DOGS but I can’t help but feel somewhat insulted by it. I don’t expect them to re-name their dog but should I say something? Anon

Although you signed your question “anonymous” I obviously still saw your real name on the email, so in order for this to make sense to everyone reading I needed to come up with a name equivalent. So guess who I called? Rainman AKA Duana. Here’s what she came up with: Molly and/or Lucy. Let me guess Anon, I’ve just pissed you off with those comparisons, haven’t I?
Blame Duana.

Anyway the point is that your name is pretty, but it’s also common enough that it works for the animal variety as well. I mean, all I had to do was a quick search to find out the top female dog names of 2013 and um, let’s just say your name is like, real close to the top. If it makes you feel any better Sasha ranked 96 – you don’t see me trying to cut someone over this, do you?

Bottom line is: who gives a f-ck. At the end of the day it’s really no big deal, so my suggestion would be don’t make it into one. Anon, take a walk, go to the park, get yourself a treat, do what you need to do to forget about this. However, if you really don’t think you can get over it then take a steaming pile of sh-t on their lawn – that should get the message across.
