There she is. My idol. Your idol? JK Rowling participated in the White House Easter Egg Roll yesterday in Washington where she read to the children from The Philosopher’s Stone. And then the kids they shouted questions at her like:

Q: What’s you favorite Harry Potter book?!?!!?!?!?!!?
A: The seventh.

Q: After Harry, who was the second character you thought up??!?!?!?!?!!?!?
A: Hermione

Q: What’s your favorite subject taught at Hogwart??!?!!?!?!!?
A: Charms (“because a lot can go wrong”)

(Source The Washington Post - but they spelled Hermione wrong!)

Sigh. But wouldn’t you have wanted to be there?

It’s that time of year again. If you’re in university you should be balls deep in finals. Which seems a good time to repost Jo’s incomparable Harvard commencement address. But not only for those who are studying. Jo’s words are for everyone. For those of you who have already enjoyed it, and for those of you who have not yet had the experience. I got back to it every 3 or 4 months. Sometimes I read it, because since she wrote it first, the words almost have more immediate import in text. Click here for the transcript. And the video is below.

What would Jo think of Chris and Karleena Perry of St. Albert, Alberta who don’t want Habitat For Humanity coming into their rich ass neighbourhood? You want to hate people today? READ THIS ARTICLE.
